novelties/expansions of the last months

• START OF PROJECT PHASE II
  The introduction of the Fouling Database in July 2006 activated project phase II.
• FOULING DATABASE
  The database gives access to complete taxonomic and analytic sampling data of a special location. Next milestones: Database extension and advanced access tools like dynamic charts.

• FUNDING / DONATIONS
  In face of some donations the funding of the project turned out to be difficult. We are still searching for support, co-operations, banner ads and donations to potentiate our project inputs.
• PREVIEW
  For 2007 we plan to improve the Product Lists, an extension of the Fouling Encyclopaedia and maybe more.

• ACTIVATION OF THE PROJECT WEBSITE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE !
• re-organisation of the AntiFouling Library (status quo: 20 online documents, over 285 literature references
• NEW: Fouling Encyclopaedia (status quo: 8 activated organisms)
• expansion/improvement of the Antifouling Product Lists (status quo: over 140 antifouling products)

next steps

• implementation of more antifouling products
• launch of the FOULING-DATABASE (spring 2006, project phase II)

Note: The elaboration of the Fouling-Atlas and the dissemination of the website address is very time-consuming and laborious. We would appreciate an assistance in spreading the address in cases you value the content as useful very much.

Just recently the website has been completed. This ist still the GERMAN VERSION - the English version is planed for project phase II and will be placed at www.fouling-atlas.org.

Most of the documents intended to be incorporated in project phase I are included and will be extended during the next months to offer comprehensive and update information. Feel free to visit our website at any time you want. We would like to draw your attention in particular on the followings topics:

The project is supported by the research laboratory LimnoMar (Laboratory for Aquatic Research and Comparative Pathology, Hamburg).

Short description

This project addresses to industrial sectors which are faced to fouling problems in fresh- and saltwater environments. The Fouling-Atlas contains specific information on maritime fouling problems.

Actually the project is in phase I. Some topics have still a developing status (Fouling Database, Fouling Encyclopaedia, Product Lists for some user groups). At this time we published:
